Four levels of APOR membership are currently available. Details are provided below:

• Lifetime Member: Have your name listed permanently on the APOR web site by becoming a lifetime member. Lifetime membership is an expression of support for patient-oriented research by those for whom our discipline is an elemental priority. Two levels of lifetime memberships are available:

  • $5,000 Platinum
  • $3,000 Gold

• Active Member: Experienced physicians, or individuals holding other doctoral level degrees, who have published peer-reviewed work relating to patient-oriented research. Yearly membership fee is $200 USD.
   
• Associate Member: Individuals who have held a doctoral level degree for fewer than eight years, who are in training, and/or do not meet the requirements to be an active member. Yearly membership fee is $100 USD.
   
• Emeritus Member: Emeritus membership may be offered, within the discretion of the Board of Directors, to individuals who have completed outstanding careers as a patient-oriented scientist. Yearly membership fee is $50 USD.
   
• Student Member: Fulltime medical students and graduate students with an interest in patient oriented research may apply for Student Membership. Yearly membership fee is $20 USD.
